Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Ada Mae Barnes\n\r\n\t\t\t\tAda Mae Barnes, of Albia, age 74, died Sunday March 27, 2011 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. She was born to Handy and Elsie (King) Davis on June 4, 1936 in Knoxville, Iowa. She graduated High School in Albia. Ada then married Phillip Barnes in Unionville, MO and they were blessed with three children: Karen, Roland, and Marvin. She was a homemaker and also a certified nurse's assistant at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Centerville. Phillip passed away on April 4, 2001. Ada enjoyed fishing, sewing, gardening, and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Karen (Jerry) Knapp of Lovilia, Roland (Jessie) Barnes of Ottumwa, and Marvin Barnes of Ottumwa; siblings: Paul Davis of Albia, Glenn Davis of Albia, Fred Davis of Newton, Ina Hartman of Ottumwa, and Eva Kabler of Nelson, MO. Ada is also survived by six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Phillip, one brother, Ned Davis, and one grandson JJ Knapp. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Lovilia with Merle Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Lovilia with the family present Memorials may be directed to the family.
