Ann Therese Arnold, age 84, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the UnityPoint, Taylor Hospice House. She was born November 2, 1936 in Georgetown, Iowa to Stephen B. and Ellen E. (Judge) Sinnott. \n\nShe graduated from St. Patrick's School in 1954, and then attended X-Ray technical School at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ottumwa, Iowa. She worked at the Medical Clinic in Des Moines until marrying Larry R. Arnold on September 19, 1959. She and Larry briefly resided in Des Moines until moving to a farm in Norwalk in 1964 where they raised five boys. As the boys were older, Ann worked at Norwalk Community School District for 20 years in various capacities until retirement. \n\nFollowing retirement she enjoyed attending grandchildren's activities and sporting events, traveling to visit family members and proudly celebrating her Irish heritage, participating in St. Patrick's Day parades, spending time outdoors, and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed special outings with granddaughters which included getting manicures, luncheons and an occasional red beer or margarita and frequently a chocolate malt. \n\nShe was an active member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk and the churches Altar & Rosary Society. \n\nAnn had deep faith and love of her Lord & Savior and passed this on to her children & grandchildren through her example of daily life.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kathleen Sinnott; brother, Dr. John Sinnott; infant brother and sister-in-law, Honore Sinnott. \n\nAnn is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Larry Arnold of Norwalk, Iowa; sons, Kurt (partner Angel) of Las Vegas, NV, Kevin (Tammy) of Merrill, IA, Karl (Paula) of Norwalk, IA, Kyle (Dru) of Lebanon, IN, and Kelly (Sara) of Norwalk, IA. As well, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brother, William "Bill" Sinnott; of Pleasant Hill, IA; sisters, Ellen B. Sinnott of Des Moines, IA, and Rosemary (Jerry) Weiss of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Lenee Sinnott of Ida Grove, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.\n\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk with Father Dan Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Georgetown, followed by a luncheon at the St. Patrick's Church Hall in Georgetown. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 4-7 p.m., with a Rosary Service held at 7 p.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk.
