Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Arlene Ragan (Ogle)\n\r\n\t\t\t\tArlene (Ogle) Ragan, age 82, passed away Tuesday, November 25th, 2014, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.Arlene was born in Hamilton, Iowa on November 13, 1932 to Lloyd and Faye (Stillwell) McCombs. She was one of seven children. She graduated from Lovilia High School in 1950. On June 1950, she married James Ivan Ogle. They became parents to Linda Diane, James Steven, and Michael Wayne. Following Jim's death on April 1st, 1963, Arlene gave birth to their fourth child, Lori Lynn.Arlene worked as an aide at the Monroe County Hospital. She put herself through Nurse's training to earn her LPN. It was in 1970 that she met and married Keith Ragan. They were married 24 years before his death in 1994. Arlene cared for her mother and both husbands in her home during their illness. After Keith's death, she stayed with many other people in their homes for them. She was at her best when she was taking care of others. She was lovingly referred to as "Dr. Arlene", always available for house calls and medical advice as her kids became parents.She was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Albia, where her famous chicken and noodles were on the menu of many fund-raising dinners.She is survived by her four children, Linda (Jerry) Griffin, Steve (Debbie) Ogle, Mike (Julie) Ogle, and Lori (John) Williams. Grandchildren, Brenda (Paul) Hatfield, Brian (Tammi) Griffin, Kevin (Cheryl) Griffin, Missy (Ken) Hollingsworth, Meshara (Tony) Ballanger, Marcia (Jason) Moore, Britt Ogle (Tilley), James Ogle, Carrie (Jeremiah) Selby, Michael Ogle, Angela (Dan) Flugum, Aaron Klampe, Allison Klampe, and A.J. Williams. Great-grandchildren, Logan and Becca Hatfield, Kenzie and Kaitlyn Griffin, Abbey, Brock, and Jax Griffin, Cole and Clara Ballanger, Kale Moore, Kadin Ogle, Matthew, Julia, Caleb, and Camille Selby, Mason, Laynie, Lilah, and Elliette Flugum, and Ben Evans. A sister, Jean Harryman, and a brother Merrill McCombs.She was preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Lloyd McCombs, husbands, Jim and Keith, step-son, Keith (Skip) Ragan, brothers Dwayne, Donald, and Richard McCombs, and sister Marie Jones.Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Cornerstone Community Church in Albia with Pastor Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oakview Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Cornerstone Community Church, opening to the public at 1:00 pm and family being present from 6-8 pm Friday evening.
