Obituary for Audrey A. Edwards Dateline: Albia Audrey Antonia Edwards, age 93, of Albia, Iowa passed away early Friday morning, October 3, 2014 at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albia. She was born on April 16, 1921 in Mandan, ND to Anton and Lyndall (Schoonover) Huncovsky. Audrey went to Dickinson State Teacher College on a tennis scholarship. She taught in a one room school house in Huff. She married Carl Herbert Edwards Sr. on May 27, 1942. She later worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing Company in Albia. Carl died in 1984. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albia. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed board games, puzzles, card games, cooking, knitting, and loved her grandchildren and cats. She is survived by her son, Gary Edwards of Knoxville, five grandchildren, Danial, David, Anna, Alex Edwards, and Ardys McGrath, two great grandchildren, Amanda Tyler, and Alison McGrath, one sister, Eilean Sizemore of Mandan, ND and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents: husband Carl Sr.; son, Carl Herbert Edwards Jr.; son, Barry Lee Edwards who died during infancy, sister, Ardys Armstrong; and brother, Roger Huncovsky. Celebration of Life Services will be on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 3:00 pm in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa with Pastor Nancy Reed officiating.
