Life Story for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Bruce Alan Copeland\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tMaster Sergeant Bruce Alan Copeland, age 74, of Ottumwa, Iowa, passed away on November 6th, 2018 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.\nBruce was born August 22nd, 1944 to Kenneth E. Copeland and Dorothy I. Roberts Copeland in Ottumwa, IA.\nHe married Darlene Robinson, later divorced, and to this union was born children, Tammy L. Copeland (Tony) Wood and Alishia Robinson.\nIn 2011 Bruce married his high school sweetheart, Marlyn Findling Robinson and acquired step-children: Penny (Bob) McDanel, Billie Robinson, Dustie (Kevin) Argenta, Russell Robinson and 9 step-grandchildren.\nBruce served his country in the US Air Force serving four years active duty of which one was the Vietnam War. He served at Tan Son Nhut Air Force Base in Saigon. After discharge he joined the Iowa National Air Guard as a crew chief on the flight line in Des Moines, where he served for 29 1/2 years before retiring in 1996.\nBruce loved playing the guitar and played in a band called Country Cousins, and Bluegrass Associates. He was the M.C. for the Drakesville Bluegrass Festival for several years. He was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club and enjoyed showing cars with Marlyn. \nBruce is survived by his wife, Marlyn Copeland of Ottumwa, children, Tammy L. Copeland (Tony) Wood of Des Moines, Alishia Robinson of Des Moines; step children, Penny (Bob) McDaniel, Billie Robinson, Dustie (Kevin) Argenta, Russell Robinson, all of Moravia, nine step grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Bob) Parks and several nieces and nephews.\nHe is preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn and a brother, David I Copeland.\nFuneral services will be held at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa on Saturday, November 10th, at 10 a.m. with Dan Smith of Christ's Church officiating. Burial will follow in Shaul Cemetery with Military rites conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion, along with the Patriot Guard. Visitation will take place on Friday, November 9th from 4 - 8 p.m. with family present from 6 - 8 p.m at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Memorials may be directed to the Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa or the Order of Amaranth. \nPallbearers are: J.R.
