Daphna "Betty" Major Obituary (2022)

Daphna "Betty" Elizabeth Major, age 91, of Albia, Iowa, died on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. She was born on July 14, 1930. She married Hamilton "Hammy" Alfred Major on June 5, 1948. Hammy preceded her in death in 1987. She was an excellent cook, and baker. She enjoyed crocheting, and especially spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her daughter, Pamela "Jayne" Blommers of Waterloo; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Major of Hiteman; many grandchildren, great grand children, and great great grandchildren, and step brother, Francis (Patty) Bricker of Albia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton "Hammy" Major; three sons, Ricky, Bill, and Hamilton Jr., and step brothers. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2022 in Oak View Cemetery in Albia with Pastor Brad Gray officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.
