Diane June Berry Clester, age 83, of Albia, passed away on June 27th, 2022, at Monroe Care Center in Albia. She was born on May 11th, 1939 to Charles and Mamie (Wessel) Berry.\n\nShe grew up in Des Moines and graduated from East High School in 1957. She was a member of the Nu Phi Mu business sorority and was very active in it. She worked at Central Life Insurance in Des Moines. On August 27,1966, she married Ron Clester and moved to Albia. She then started working at John Deere in Ottumwa until she retired in 2004. After retirement she enjoyed organizing and going on cubs trips.\n\nShe also loved to travel with Ron. When not traveling, she enjoyed her flower garden, ceramics, painting and taking care of their many dogs that they loved so much. She was very active in her church and had a beautiful collection of angels. She was a breast cancer survivor.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Ron, her parents;sister, Donna (Rich) Wilcox, and brother-in-law Glen Beck. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Beck of Grimes; brother, Chuck (JoAnne) Berry of Grimes, and many nieces and nephews.\n\nFuneral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia, with a luncheon to follow services at the funeral home. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Susan G. Koman Breast Foundation.
