Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Douglas A. Snook\n\r\n\t\t\t\tDouglas Allen Snook, age 62, of Albia, formerly of Blakesburg died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albia. He was born to Delbert and Viola (Freeman) Snook on August 25, 1951 in What Cheer.Douglas enlisted with the United States Army. He later was a laborer for Excel in Ottumwa. He was a member of the VFW of Ottumwa, American Legion post 136 of Albia, and Local 230 Laborers Union. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, collecting knifes, and Music. He is survived by his children, Chris Snook and Jinny Snook both of Ottumwa; three sisters, Linda Huber of Oskaloosa, Deb (Roy) Briggs of Blakesburg, Leann (Bob) Jaennette of Oskaloosa, Jan (Carl) Cliburn of Ottumwa, six grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Shannon Durbin, and grandson, William Schwener. Douglas' body has been cremated per his wishes. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1:00 in Blakesburg Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to the VFW of Ottumwa or the American Legion Post 136 of Albia.
