Elna (Pierce) Bradley died of heart disease at the Ridgewood Specialty Care Center on January 6, 2023. She was the daughter of Bob and Marie Pierce. She was married to Alan Gray of Eddyville, IA, and this marriage ended in divorce. In 1975, Elna married Sid Bradley. A daughter was born from this union, Amanda (Bradley) Porbeck. \n\nPreceding her in death were her parents, sister, Janice (Pierce) Owen, and her husband Sid. Surviving family members are daughter, Amanda (John) and grandson, John Robert Porbeck of Jonesboro, AR, brother, Chuck (Jeanna), and niece, Stephanie Pierce of Broomfield, CO.\n\nElna graduated from Eddyville High School in 1967. She participated in basketball, softball, and track during her high school years. She was a class officer and participated in student council, was an officer in the vocal department, editor of the yearbook, cheerleader for football and basketball, homecoming queen candidate, voted most likely to succeed as a senior personality, and Valedictorian of her senior class. \n\nShe was offered a scholarship to Minneapolis College of Art and Design, however, she attended Ottumwa Heights College where she graduated with honors. She furthered her education at William Penn and earned her degree in English and teaching. Elna was offered a graduate assistant internship at Northeast Missouri State Teacher College in Kirksville, MO. Instead of taking the internship, she taught locally in the Centerville and Albia schools.\n\nDespite her health issues, Elna was very artistic, an amazing seamstress, and loved to read books. She was a very kind-hearted person and will be missed. She has been cremated. No services are scheduled at this time.
