Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Gary Thomas Stuchel\n\r\n\t\t\t\tGary Thomas Stuchel, age 72, of Albia, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa from an aneurysm. Gary was born August 18, 1943 in Monroe County to Robert and Julie (Heagney) Stuchel. He was a graduate of Albia High School, class of 1961. He married Rose Hull on April 25, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Weller, Iowa, and to this union a son Jeff was born. Gary worked at John Deere in Ottumwa for thirty-five years as a Supervisor. Gary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus of Albia. He enjoyed making oak furniture and sharing this with his family. He also enjoyed hunting mushrooms, and later in life he enjoyed when people shared them with him. He was so proud of his grandsons, and enjoyed listening to their stories. Gary lived life to the fullest, and he had a laugh that everyone will remember. He is survived by wife of fifty-two years, Rose of Albia; son, Jeff (Mary Ellen) Stuchel of Ottumwa; two grandsons, Mitch and friend (Megan), and Trent; one brother, Bill Stuchel of Knoxville; two sisters, Mary (Al) Smith of Albia, Ruth (Bob) Carle of Des Moines, and many nieces and nephews that he thoroughly enjoyed having around. He is also survived by many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Romp, and Evelyn Whitlock; five brothers, Richard in infancy, Don, Bob, Jim, and Stanley Stuchel, and sisters-in-law, Marcia and Kathie Hull. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia with Father Mike Volkmer C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, opening to the public at 11:00 a.m. at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Family will be present from 4-8 pm, with a Rosary conducted by St. Mary's Altar and Rosary of Albia at 4:00 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
