Gary Paul Zellmer Obituary (1962 - 2020)

Gary Paul Zellmer, age 57, of Bussey, passed away on February 12, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. He was born on February 13, 1962 in Knoxville, Iowa to Donald Henry and Sandra (Marshall) Zellmer. Gary graduated from Twin Cedars High School, class of 1980. He married Jennifer Bregar on November 27, 1994 in Las Vegas, NV. They later divorced. He was a roofer most of his life, owning Zellmer Roofing. He was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman; spending many of his days out fishing, hunting, playing slow pitch softball, and walking around town mingling with all the townsfolk. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, and watching his beloved Miami Dolphins, and Iowa Hawkeyes. Gary is survived by his mother, Sandra Zellmer of Bussey; three daughters, Breann (Wade) Pettyjohn of Hamilton, Baylee Zellmer, and Maddison Zellmer, both of Bussey; grandson, Bryson Pettyjohn; sister, Donna Hutchinson of Knoxville, brother Roger (Kim) Zellmer of Bussey; brother-in-law, Mark Reed of Bussey, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Henry Zellmer; brother, Robert Wayne Zellmer, and sister, Cathy Jill Reed. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9:00 a.m, until service time at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
