Georgia Viola (Rice) Allison, age 92, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Monroe Care Center in Albia. She was born on March 17, 1927 to George and Annabelle (Davis) Rice in Rex five Monroe County. \n\nViola married Donald Allison June 9, 1943. She graduated from Albia High School, class of 1945. She worked twenty-eight years at Maloney and Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, and enjoyed helping with communion for many years. She danced with the Dancing Grannies, and sang in the County Gospel Choir for several years. She helped with birthday parties at Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center once a month. Viola enjoyed time with her family, especially meals and boating. \n\nShe is survived by her children, Gary (Carol) Allison of Monmouth, IL, Daryl (Kay) Allison of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Todd Allison, Jennifer (Frank) Harris, Sarah (Matt) Johnson, Hannah Allison; six great grandchildren, Brandon and Elijah Harris, Riley and Kathryn Johnson, and Kaden and Kendrick Allison. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Loretta Clair, Myrtle DeVore, brother, Chuck Woodland, and nephew Jack Wellman. \n\nCelebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Rev. Roger Henry officiating. A funeral luncheon will follow services with inurnment to follow in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. Memorials may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia.
