Gerald W Sapp "Sappy" age 55, of Ottumwa, IA passed away on November 11, 2021 in Ottumwa, IA\n\nGerald was born in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the eldest son of Gerald G. and Martha (Richards) Sapp on June 2nd 1966. Gerald graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1985. He worked for various businesses as a mechanic. Gerald was known for his incredible talent as a mechanic. When you would see Gerald you always knew he had been working on somebody's vehicle due to the grease under his fingernails. Gerald was known by many but ultimately loved by everyone he met. Gerald had the biggest heart and was the friend that would give you the shirt off his back. Gerald had a special way of making his presence known by his rooster crow or singing at the top of his lungs. \n\nGerald was preceded in death by his loving mother Martha. \n\nGerald is survived by his children, Dakota Sapp (Jennifer Townsend) of Ottumwa, Katelynn (Ryne) Pickrell of Ottumwa; father, Gerald G. Sapp of Glendale Az; two sisters, Anita (Tony) Barker and Sherry Sapp both of Ottumwa; brother, Harold (Beth) Sapp of Glendale Az; nieces, Brooke Barker (Tyler Keck), Cindy Barker (Caleb Mitchell) both of Ottumwa, Raechel Sapp of Glendale AZ; grandchildren, Laynee Jo and Brennick Sapp, Lily and Noah Pickrell.\n\nHonorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Pickney, Rob Saylor, Lester Jordan, Mark Waller, Mike Lawson, Scott McCoy and Donnie Bailey.\n\nA Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday November 19, 2021 at the First Pentecostal Assembly of God, 733 Church Street, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501 . Pastor Jeremy Skinner will be officiating. There will be a dinner following in Selix Hall. \n\nMemorials may be given to the family to be put towards a memorial for Gerald.
