Irene Christine (Kluver) Anderson, age 89, of Centerville passed away on November 20, 2020 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Irene was born on October 26, 1931 to Chris and Etta (Ludwigs) Kluver near Merrill, IA. \n\nIrene was raised in Chatsworth, IA and attended school there until the 8th grade then transferring to Hawarden High School where she graduated with the class of 1949. She was a confirmed member of the Lutheran Church in Chatsworth, IA. She married George Anderson in May of 1949 in Akron, Iowa. George later passed away in 1975, after sharing 26 years of marriage. To this union they were blessed with three children, Penny, Tom and Judy. \n\nIn her early years of marriage, she worked at Otis Radio in Hawarden, IA before George took a job working construction and they spent many years traveling from state to state before making their home in Centerville in 1967. Irene worked at McGraw - Edison and Young Radiator where she retired from in 1992. She then took a part-time job working for Casey's General Store for 19 years. \n\nHer favorite activities included playing bingo and doing puzzle books. She will be remembered for her hard work and loyalty for the companies she worked for and putting her family above everything. \n\nShe is survived by her children, Tom (Deborah) Anderson of York, SC and Judy (Todd) Chidester of Melrose, IA; grandchildren, Tracie (Bruce) Ellis, Tara (Kevin) Ives, Matt Anderson, Nick (Bernadette) Anderson, Kelsey (Mark) McLean, Tony Riddick and Chase (Megan) Chidester, fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Dianne) Kluver, Alvina Peterson, Chris (Sharon) Kluver, Vern (Marge) Kluver, Derwood (Barb) Kluver and Verletta (Larry) Berg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Etta Kluver; her husband, George; daughter, Penny; sisters, Delores Millikan, Florence Jones and several in-laws.\n\nPer her wishes her body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, IA. Memorials may be made in Irene's name and directed to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105).
