Irvin "Kenneth" Stephens, age 87, of Albia, Iowa, died on Sunday morning, July 10, 2022 at his residence, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice with his family by his side. \n\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S. officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 3-7 p.m., with Kenny's family present at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. A rosary will be recited by St. Mary's Altar and Rosary at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Albia Fire Department. Kenny graduated from Albia High School, class of 1952. He married Marilyn Billings on June 27, 1955. He worked for John Deere until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Albia Fire Department for thirty-five years. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and having fish fries. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. \n\nKenny is survived by his children: Chris "Toots" (Donnie) Sinnott of Albia, Jeff (Kristan) Stephens of Albia, Carol (Dave) Peterson of Albia, Gary (Jennie) Stephens of Albia; grandchildren, Jill (Michael) Lathrop, Bobby (Jenn) Sinnott, Bryan (Sam) Stephens, Adam (Bri) Stephens, Andy Stephens and Erin Heaton, Cassie Henderson, Brenna Stephens, Jeremy (Heather) Peterson, Nicole Stephens and Dusty Long, Kasi (Kile) Overmyer and Spencer Stephens; great grandchildren, Taegen (Nic) Ryan and Luke Bossard, Jag Lathrop, Landen Simpson, Bexley and Malia Sinnott, Kinsley, Presley & Liam Henderson, Talan Peterson, Rossilynn Nace, Raidyn, Wyatt & Willow Peterson, Ryker Stephens, Averie Harris, Ella Long, Madilynn & Brecken Overmyer; one great great grandson, Merreck Ryan; one sister, Charlene (Harold) McGilvrey, and also special friend, Karen Hoover. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; granddaughter, Katie Peterson; great grandson, Waylon Dean Peterson; brothers, Dwight & Wilbert Stephens.
