Karen Anderson

Karen Jeannine Anderson, age 70 passed away peacefully on August 15, 2020. She was born on February 10, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa. Originally from Ottumwa, Iowa she moved to live her last 40+ years in California close to her Aunt Betty and Uncle Darrell. Karen is the daughter of Melvin E. and Elenor E. Anderson of Ottumwa, Iowa.

She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1968. Karen was an avid bowler for most of her life and treasured the many trophies she and her friends earned. While in California, she spent most of her working career at Montgomery Wards, over 25 years. Shortly after her father passed, Karen's mom also moved to California. They both enjoyed many years developing new friends and participating in many activities at their mobile home community. Karen particularly enjoyed all the activities at the park including bunko, holiday and birthday parties, swimming and especially LINE DANCING. She really loved doing her line dancing with her friends at the park.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by many cousins both in Iowa and California.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday August 29, 2020 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa, Iowa. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery by her parents.
