Katlyn "KP" Jean Peterson, age 31, of Albia, died on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home in Albia. She was born on June 8, 1990 in Ottumwa, Iowa to David and Carol (Stephens) Peterson. Katie graduated from Albia Community High School, class of 2009. She loved socializing, never afraid to spark up a conversation, and would always greet you with a smile. She enjoyed music, watching cooking shows, cooking all foods, and especially hanging with her friends and family. She adored her nieces, nephews, and dog, Tigger. She is survived by her parents, Dave and Carol Peterson of Albia; brother, Jeremy (Heather) Peterson of Albia; maternal grandfather, Kenny (Karen Hoover) Stephens of Albia; paternal grandmother, Maxine Peterson of Albia; nieces and nephews, Talan, Rossilynn, Raidyn, Wyatt, and Willow; aunts and uncles, Chris "Toots" (Donnie) Sinnott, Jeff (Kristan) Stephens, Gary (Jennie) Stephens, Vicki Colwell, Dennis Peterson, Curtis (Kaylene) Peterson, Merrill (Melissa) Peterson, and many great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marilyn Ann Stephens; paternal grandfather, Gerald "Jerry" Chester Peterson, and nephew, Waylon Peterson. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 18, 2022 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S., officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m., at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia.
