Leona Yvonne Golden Williams, age 79, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at her residence in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was born on May 13, 1938 in Alliance, Nebraska to Willard and Annise (Rockwell) Braman. Leona and family moved to Englewood, CA when she was three years old, and then moved to Nebraska, and finally to Albia in 1954. She graduated from Albia Community High School, class of 1956. Leona married Henry "Sonny" Golden on November 30, 1956, and they were blessed with eight children. Sonny passed away on February 27, 1988. She later married Burdett Williams on January 18, 2001. He passed away on October 28, 2008. Leona enjoyed quilting, reading, puzzles, baking, knitting, her flower garden, needle work, and her cats Maggie and Sammie. She is survived by her children, Sandra Champoux of Des Moines, Janet (John) Kosman of Moravia, Kelly (Paul) Jones of Rogersville, MO, Robin (David) Gragg of What Cheer, Teresa Golden of Albia, Sharm Golden of Fremont, Misty (Dan Lindley) Wiley of What Cheer, Marcy Golden of Albia; twenty-six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and uncle, Clarence "Rocky" (Shirley) Rockwell of Albia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Annise Braman; husbands, Henry "Sonny" Golden and Burdett Williams; great granddaughter, Brooklin Petithory; son-in-law, Rod Wiley, and many aunts and uncles. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Elder Lois Behrens officiating. A funeral luncheon will directly follow services at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., and Leona's family will be present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
