Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Lonne Ray Shullaw\n\r\n\t\t\t\tLonne Ray Shullaw, age 72, of rural Eddyville, died on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Monroe County Hospital, under the care of Monroe County Hospice. He was born on January 15, 1940 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Reichert and Edith (Nichols) Shullaw. He graduated from Ottumwa High School, class of 1959. He enlisted with the United States Army. He married Betty Holliday on December 22, 1962 in Ottumwa, Iowa and they were blessed with three children: Sandy, Doug, and Allen. He worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation as a Credit Supervisor until his retirement in 1993. He then worked for ferrellgas and Albia Motor Company. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and was an avid sports fan, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He is survived by his wife Betty of rural Eddyville, children, Sandy Omeila of Lincoln, NE, Doug (Kris) Shullaw of Decorah, IA, Allen Shullaw of rural Eddyville, siblings: Nancy (Leo) Benal of Lake City, TX, Jerry (Carol) Shullaw of Doniphan, NE, Arthur (Ellen) Shullaw of Crescent City, CA, David (Irene) Shullaw of Arkansas, KS, Raymond (Anita) Shullaw of Texas, Michael (Jane) Shullaw of Lincoln, NE, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one step great grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Sandy Shullaw and Dixie Magee. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia with Rev. Lois Williams officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the American Legion of Albia, Lovilia, and Melrose will follow in Bellefountaine Cemetery in Tracy. Visitation will be on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Sinnott Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Albia opening to the public at 2:00 pm and the family will be present from 6-8 pm Friday evening.
