Lowell Findley

Albia, Iowa

Lowell Willard Findley, age 85, passed away on December 21, 2021 at his home in Colorado. He was born to Willard E. and Minnie May (Jackson) Findley on February 7, 1936.
Lowell's mother passed away 10 days after his birth. Willard, being the faithful father he was, cared for Lowell all by himself and continued to farm.
At a young age Lowell took piano lessons and thus started his love of music. Lowell graduated from the Lovilia High School where he played the trap drum in band. In 1957 he attended college at Le Mars, IA and during that time he served two churches. He then went on to seminary school in 1960 and later in life Lowell earned his Doctrine of Divinity.
After seminary in 1963, he started what would be a long career on a reservation in the
Southwest. At the height of his career, while serving as head master at the school in Window Rock, he was in charge of 20,000 children. Lowell was an excellent mentor to many children and adults.
His love of the Lord, learning, music, and reading was very evident to all who knew him. Lowell was accomplished at preaching, teaching, playing the piano and flute along with numerous other instruments. Throughout the years, Lowell had many dogs that provided him companionship and brought great joy to his life.
Lowell willing gave up his career in 1980, moving home when his father had a stroke. For four years Lowell was his father's caretaker returning the unconditional love his father afforded him, until Willard passed in 1984. It was a testimony of true love, faithfulness, compassion and thankfulness.
In 1985, Lowell returned to the Southwest to the reservation he had grown to love so much and worked a few more years before retiring.
Lowell was a God fearing, trustworthy, caring, and compassionate friend who will be dearly missed by many.
