Margaret E. Tangie, age 81, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at her home under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. She was born to Jesse David and Mildred Maude (Davis) Speck on April 19, 1942, in Knoxville, Iowa. Margaret married Bob Tangie on April 20, 1980. She worked at Chicago Rivet for 25 years, retiring in 2000. \n\nMargaret had an unwavering love for her family, which was her greatest treasure. She was a gifted seamstress, a talent she nurtured and honed over the years, and she found immense joy in the serenity of the outdoors. Margaret was a proud member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia and was a St. Mary’s Precious Blood Companion.\n\nSurvivors include her husband, Bob Tangie of Albia; children, Lucinda Ramsey of Liberty, MO, Lisa (Bill) Flahive of Albia, Lori (Larry) Swiderski-Cain of Nevada; step-daughter, Kris Tangie of Albia; grandchildren, Melissa Ramsey, David (Michelle) Ramsey, Jason Ramsey, Amy (Garritt) Venema, Aaron (Sarah) Flahive, Megan (Patrick) Martin, Chris (Allee) Hoffman; great grandchildren, Leena, Declan & Caden, Ramsey, Kamry & Kinsley Venema, Millee & Grayson Flahive; Noah, Mackenzie, Gideon & Gabriel Martin, Magnolia Hoffman; brother, Craig Speck of Joplin, MO, several nieces and nephews, and very special puppy, Scooter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Mildred Speck, brother, David, and sister, Janice. \n\nThe visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday, September 21, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the Mass following at 11:00 a.m with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S. officiating. Private family Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
