Dr. Michael K. Judge

Dr. Michael K. Judge, a compassionate and dedicated man, who, with his laughter, brought joy to many lives, passed away on 5th May, 2024 at his home under the care of EveryStep Hospice. Born on 5th September, 1946, to John J. and Celina (Kolling) Judge in Albia, Iowa. Mike’s life journey was an inspiring testament to the power of perseverance and dedication. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Mike’s love for his family was as vast as the Iowa sky under which he was born and lived.

Mike led an accomplished professional life in the field of healthcare. After graduating from the esteemed Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1973, he practiced in Illinois before returning to his roots in Albia in 1989. He established Judge Chiropractic, serving his community with dedication and passion for nearly 50 years before retiring in 2023. His work was not just a job, but a calling, and he was driven by the belief that he was helping to make his patients healthier. His commitment to service extended beyond his practice and into his community where he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Albia Historical Board. With his wife Donna, he introduced the Victorian Stroll to Albia, an event that soon became a cherished tradition.

In his personal life, Mike was a recreational golfer, a passionate Iowa Hawkeye Fan, and a regular at the Thursday afternoon lunch outings at Brick Street. The joy he found in these pursuits was only surpassed by the love he held for his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, beaming with pride at every event and game. His loved ones will remember him as a charitable and giving individual, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Judge; children, Mike (Debbie) Judge, Allison Judge, Jeff (Erin) Judge, Natalie (Brian) Pettit, Katie (Dain) Netland; 14 grandchildren; Josiah, Kieran, Jerzey, Kenley (Dawson), Dax, Simon, Sunny, Jack, Caelin, Collin, Evie, Lydia, Eleanor, Avery; 2 great grandchildren, Kohen and Thelon; siblings, Rick (Debbie) Judge, Susan (Larry) Bartleman, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Celina Judge; sister, JoAnne Judge Gaines, and brother, John Judge.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held for Mike on Thursday, 9th May 2024, from 2-7 p.m., at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Mike's family present. The Memorial Service will take place on the same day at 7:00 pm. with Rev. Richard Grimes officiating at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Memorials have been established to the family and will be directed at a later date.
