Mike "Goob" Gilbert, age 58, of Lovilia, died on August 16, 2016 in Lovilia. He was born on October 10, 1957 in Grinnell, Iowa to George and Bonnie (Gilliland) Gilbert. He graduated from Albia High School, class of 1976. Mike lived in Lovilia his entire life. He enjoyed rock hunting, NASCAR races, The Ellen Show, spending time with Landon, Family, friends, and riding the golf cart with the grandkids. He is survived by his children, Gabe (Tiffany) Gilbert of Knoxville, Shanna Gilbert and Nick Floden of Leighton, Heather Pettyjohn of Lovilia, Tatum Gilbert of Lovilia, and Landon Main of Albia; mother, Bonnie Gilbert of Lovilia, siblings, Pat (Teresa) Gilbert of Loviia, Angie (Mitch) McCombs of Des Moines, and nine grandchildren, and special family friend, Darcy McCombs of Lovilia. He was preceded in death by his father, George Gilbert. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia with Rev. Raymond Doser officiating. Burial will follow services in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., and family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia.
