Myrtle Marie (Blackwood) Kurimski, age 88, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill. She was born August 10, 1931 in Donnybrook, ND to Samuel and Hannah Ester (Cross) Blackwood.\n\nMyrtle married Michael John Kurimski II on December 16, 1947 in Bremerton, WA, where Michael was stationed in the navy. They were blessed with four children, Michael "Mick", Linda, Diane, and Pam. She was a housewife, but also worked at Trophy Glove, and Chicago Rivet as a machinist. She was a former president of the Altar and Rosary Society for St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia, one of the Dancing Grannies, and the Ladies Red Hat Club. She enjoyed music, dancing, puzzles, bowling, gardening and planting flowers, and her happiest times were spent with her family and grandchildren. \n\nShe is survived by her children, Michael John (Sharon) Kurimski III of Sigourney, Linda Marie Franzen of Altoona, Theresa Diane (Bill) Campbell of Chariton, Pamela Rene (Robert) Hoffmann of Pella, fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and sister Elizabeth (Stephen) Ashton, Bremerton, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Hannah Blackwood; husband, Michael John Kurimski II; brother, Arthur; sisters, Florence, Hazel, Helen, Ardell; granddaughter, Christina, and son-in-law Denny Franzen. \n\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday February 8, 2020 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia with Father Mark Yates C.PP.S. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Lovilia. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 11:00 until service time at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
