Patricia "Patty" Jean (Paris) Anderson, age 80, of Albia, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Monroe County Hospital in Albia. Patty was born on August 23, 1942 in Pulaski, Iowa to Henry J. And Ruby M. (Wheaton) Paris. She married Gerald Dewayne Anderson on June 6, 1964 in Milton, Iowa. Patty graduated Fox Valley High School in Milton in 1960. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa in the early 60's where she worked at North Western Bell Telephone. While living in Des Moines she met Gerald. Patty lived in Albia, Iowa from 1964 until her death.\n\nPatty worked for North Western Telephone Company in Des Moines, Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia, Ferrellgas in Albia, and Kness Manufacturing in Albia where she retired in January, 2018.\n\nPatty enjoyed collecting thimbles and would travel to thimble collector conventions as far as Kentucky. Patty collected and painted Owls. She enjoyed Bowling and was involved in a women's bowling league in the 1970's and 1980's. She loved to craft all the way until her death. She loved to garden and plant flowers until she became ill, but would continue to monitor and provide healthy advise to her daughter Jami and grandaughter Emma. Patty loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would volunteer with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts to stay involved with her children's activities.\n\nPatty is survived by her children, Gary D. Anderson and Pam Wells of Centerville, David C. Anderson of Wisconsin, Jami E. Anderson of Albia; daughter-in-law, Robyn Anderson of Albia; grandchildren, Treana (Matthew) Drost of Oskaloosa, Kara Anderson of Albia, J.D (Kadyn) Anderson of Nevada, Austin Anderson, Keaton Anderson and DeeDee Mctigue, and Alyssa Anderson of Centerville, Emma Bagley of Albia; great grandchildren Kyler Drost, Alex Drost, Ryker Anderson, Braxton McMurray, and Huxlei Anderson. She is also survived by her siblings James Paris and sister Betty Waddel, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry J. And Ruby M. Paris; Husband Gerald D. Anderson; son Joseph "Joe" Anderson; and sister Nancy Hill.\n\nA Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 12-4 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Patty's family present. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in Albia.
