Phyllis Irene "PC" Cameron, age 78, of Albia passed away on Thursday morning, June 20, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. She was born on August 28, 1940 to Francis and Irene (Price) Cameron.\n\nPhyllis graduated from Albia High School, class of 1958. She then attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Ottumwa, graduating in 1961 as an RN. She then moved to Omaha, NE, and worked at St. Catherine's Hospital until a severe car accident kept her hospitalized for over a year. After recovery, she continued working as a RN at Ottumwa Regional Hospital then later at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. Due to health reasons she came back home and worked at Monroe County Hospital & Clinics until she retired in 1995. \n\nShe had many hobbies such as putting puzzles together, playing games on her kindle, traveling, listening to country music, she was an avid collector of owls and coca cola memorabilia, and having a soft heart for animals. Her real joy in life was spending time with family, especially her great-nephews. Her niece Julie Adler, and nephew David Adler, "Were the apple of eye". She will always be remembered by having a good sense of humor.\n\nSurvivors include her sister Vicki (William) Adler, niece Julie Adler, nephew David (Kylie) Adler, great-nephews, Hunter, Owen and Hayden Adler all of Albia. She also is survived by one Aunt and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Irene Cameron and a brother Richard Cameron.\n\nFuneral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Lynda Carlson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak View Cemetery in Albia. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m with family present to greet friends at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia.
