Raphael Gutierrez age 64, of Albia, IA passed away Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at the Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, IA. He was born September 30th, 1956 in San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, Mexico a son of the late Ana Maria Gutierrez of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico & Davenport, IA and the late Agapito Gutierrez of San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, Mexico & Davenport, IA. \n\nRaphael had a sweet, gentle disposition. Everyone that knew him loved him. He enjoyed listening to music, riding his stationary bike, watching movies and WWE/WWF/Mexican wrestling but his favorite activity was to go out to eat at the local mexican restaurant and then go for ice cream. He loved family get-togethers and spending time at Church. One of his favorite treats was when he got to have non-alcoholic beer that his sister Juana would bring him. When he was able to go to his sister Juana's house to visit, he really enjoyed seeing the animals and being able to pet and play with them. \n\nIn addition to his father and mother, he is preceded in death by brothers Arturo Guiterrez, Agapito Gutierrez Jr. and sister Ana Mae Calderon\n\nThose left to cherish his memory are his siblings; twin brother Gabriel Gutierrez of San Antonio, TX; Juana Maria Plum of Oskaloosa, IA; Julian Gutierrez of Virginia; Margarita Maya of San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; and Jessica Moore of New Mexico. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\n\nThe family has chosen to postpone a remembrance service due to the current pandemic. They hope to have a service at a future date still to be determined. Raphaels final resting place will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Davenport, IA.
