Life Story for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Richard Floyd Dawson\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tRichard Floyd Dawson, age 75, of Lovilia, passed away on Saturday morning, November 3, 2018 at his residence, under the care of EveryStep Hospice. He was born on March 11, 1943 to Russell and Clara (Meister) Dawson. \nRichard graduated from Des Moines Tech High School. He married Linda Browne on April 15, 1972, and they were blessed with two children, Julie and Paul. He worked at Monarch Cement in Des Moines before moving by Lake Miami in Monroe County. He was an avid hunter, and loved animals \nSurvivors include his wife, Linda Dawson of Lovilia, children, Julie (John) Smart of Knoxville, Paul Dawson of Lovilia; brother, Lester Dawson of Des Moines, two grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie Dawson, and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Clara Dawson, and one sister-in-law, Virginia Dawson. \nRichard's body has been cremated. Graveside Services will be held in Graceland Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2018 with Pastor Bruce Smith officiating. Memorials may be directed to EveryStep Hospice.
