Roderick 'Rod' Alan Klampe, age 62, of Des Moines, passed away in his home on September 22, 2022.\nRod was born on April 8th, 1960 to Rachel Kilburn Klampe and Don Klampe in Geneseo, Illinois. He was raised in and around Moravia, IA by his father and stepmother, Nancy Klampe. Rod enjoyed running around outdoors with his brothers and little sister. He played baseball and ran track, loved motorcycles, tinkering with cars, and loved to draw. He was quite the talented artist. He enjoyed weight lifting and body building, loved movies, music, and collecting all sorts of things.\n\nRod is survived by his children: Angela (Dan) Flugum of Albia, Aaron Klampe of Albia, Allison (Ray) Morales of Pella, Roderick (Destini) Klampe of Dumont, Shakiel Klampe of Carroll; his siblings: Robert Klampe, Jim Klampe, Susan (Ron) Welch, Laura Denny, Tracy Williams, and Eddie Jutila, as well as many grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Rod is preceded in death by his mother Rachel Kilburn Jutila, his father Donald Klampe, his stepmother Nancy Klampe, and an infant brother, Johnny. \n\nA Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his daughter Angela Flugum, through Sinnott's Funeral Home, 2030 Hwy 5, Albia, Iowa 52531, to assist with Rod's end of life expenses.
