Roger Stephen Sinnott, age 49, of Albia, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. He was born on June 28, 1970 to Stephen and Tish (Rogers) Sinnott. \n\nRoger attended Albia Community Schools. He enjoyed music, dancing, car rides, animals, especially his dog Tybe (Taco). He was a gold medalist in the Special Olympics. You could always see Roger tippy-toeing around town, stopping in the local establishments for his PEPSI! \n\nHe is survived by his mother, Tish of Albia; siblings, Kitty (Steve) VanderHart of Pella, Stephanie (Jeff) Bettis of Albia, Felicia (Joe) Starcevich of Centerville, Charlie (Traci) Sinnott of Albia; special sisters, Nancy Benge and family, Cassie Thomas and family; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Joe) Carley, Cassie (Drew) Ryken, Cody Jones, Austin (Lexi) Post, Ally, Brooke, and Skyler Bettis, Tatum (Nick) Starcevich, Olivia Starcevich, Michael Starcevich, and Payton Sinnott; great nieces and nephews, Dylon and Owen Carley, Kaden, Braxton, Hudson Ryken, Lauren Post, and many aunts, uncles, great aunt, cousins, and many friends also survive Roger. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Sinnott; grandparents, Leo and Alice Sinnott, Pat and Isabella Rogers; sister in infancy, Robin Sinnott, brother, Leo Sinnott; nephew, Cory Cosgrove, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. \n\nRoger's family would like to thank his special friends at the American Legion, Murph's Sports Bar, Ray's Bar (Brickstreet), K of C, and the Eagles. They would also like to thank the Monroe County Hospital, Care Initiatives Hospice, Dr. Curiel, and a special thanks to Lori Vitko, who has taken wonderful care of Roger for many years. \n\nCelebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Dan Smith officiating, and eulogist Jodi Maddy. A luncheon will follow at the Knights of Columbus in Albia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family and will go toward a dog park at the Albia Reservoir, done by the Albia Rotary Club.
