Sandra Marie Smith, age 69, of Bussey, IA, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics ER. She was born on July 21, 1946 to Edward Thomas and Mary Josephine (Coughlin) Beary. She graduated from Twin Cedars High School. She then completed Beauty School in Ottumwa. She married David Smith on November 14, 1964 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Lovilia. She retired from Electronic Data Systems. She also was her daughters secretary at Shannon's School of Dance in Albia for many years. She volunteered at the Bussey Library, and was a helping hand during election times. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia. She enjoyed reading, watching soap operas, reality tv shows, gambling, and her big green chair. She was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and her dog Maggie. She is survived by her husband, Dave of Bussey, children, Barry (Carmen) Smith of Knoxville, Brian Smith of Oskaloosa, Shannon (Anthony) Proctor of Bussey; siblings, Joseph (Lesley) Beary of Aurora, IL, Gerald (Lori) Beary of Knoxville, and grandchildren, Taylor, Evan, and Caelie Smith, Jimmy, Joshua (Holly), and Joseph (Laurel) McCombs, and six nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Adessa Marie during infancy. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, July 27, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia with Father Jake Greiner officiating. Burial will follow funeral luncheon in Pringle Cemetery near Bussey. Visitation will be Sunday, opening to the public at 1:00 pm and family being present from 2-4 pm at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. A Christian Wake Service will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Services entrusted with Sinnott Funeral Home. Memorials to the family and will be directed at a later date.
