Scott Donald Janney was born on July 8, 1966 in Mason City IA. \n\nAfter a long hard fight with cancer he earned his well deserved wings on December 30, 2021 at 10:21 p.m. at MercyOne in Des Moines with his family loving him. \n\nHe married his high school sweetheart on December 25, 1985. With the love they had for each other they had a daughter and a son. \n\nScott loved to be with his family and spend time with his friends. He looked forward to the spring so he could go mushroom hunting. He also loved taking the kids fishing and traveling.\n\nScott did drywall which he learned from his dad and brother-in-law. He was such a hard worker, and provided for his family. He was also able to fulfill his dream of becoming a truck driver. \n\nScott is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter, Karylann; son, Fisher; sisters Sandra ( Robert Sr.) Schippers, Leigh (Steve) Rokop, Mary Ann Ahrens, Billy Jo Lopez Martin, Rhonda Shroder, and Cindy Shroder. Robert Schippers Jr was his nephew but the love they had was a brotherly love and loved him as a brother, and many many nieces and nephews and friends who he loved as family also survive. \n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Margaret Janney, his mother-in-law, Carol Holmes Skinner; Sister-in-law, Naomi; brother-in-law, Richard, and biological mother, Sheryl Shroeder. \n\nA Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2022 with Doug McAntire officiating at Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5-7 p.m., at Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa. In honor of Auto Immune Compromised people MASKS are REQUIRED at Visitation and Celebration of Life Services. Memorials may be directed to the family.
