Shirley Kathleen (Bogle) Chapman, 87, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA on April 9, 2019. She was born on Sept. 23, 1931 at home in rural Moulton, IA to Clarence and Virgle Bogle. She graduated from Moulton High School in 1949. She was the oldest of 9 children. She had worked as a waitress and was a homemaker.\nShe married Wilbur (Dick) Chapman on July 3, 1964. They made their home at 932 N. Court in Ottumwa for forty years.\nSurvivors include her children: Michelle Rash Whitney and Scott (Michelle) Chapman of Ottumwa; Steve (Bethany) Chapman of Chadds Ford, PA; and Cassandra (Donovan) Edington of CO Springs, CO. Her siblings: Dale (Joyce) Bogle of Bloomfield; Gale (Linda) Bogle of Agency; Carolyn (Martin) Shook of West Des Moines; Lynn (Brad) Brobisky of Austin, TX; and Rosalind Pelt of NC. 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.\nPreceeded in death by: her parents; daughter, Monica Leedom; and brothers: Davey Bogle of Jamesport, MO; Bruce Bogle of Bloomfield; and baby brother Edward Bogle.\nHer body has been cremated. Sinnott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be a private family memorial at a later time.
