As a young man he enjoyed drawing pictures of mostly horses. He enjoyed horse back riding and listening to what us younger folks would call old people music. Some of his favorite musicians were Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and so much more. One of the things I heard him say often was "do you remember...." He loved to tell stories about the past and remind us about events that happened in his life. He loved watching westerns and wrestling on television. Some of the jobs he had in his lifetime were, working in a foundry in Illinois, working in the oil fields in Texas, Working for his friend Don, and working at Excel in Ottumwa.
Stephen/Dad/Grandpa was an amazing father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and cousin. He cared about his family and friends and would help anyone he could. Stephen will missed, but not forgotten. He will remain in our hearts, thoughts, and minds forever.
