Steve "Tank" Lee Smith, age 63, of Lovilia, died on October 9, 2016 at the Monroe County Hospital, Emergency Room. He was born on January 30, 1953 in Albia, Iowa to Elwood Oliver and Josie (Godfrey) Smith. Tank married Vickie Burk on November 5, 1977 at the Knoxville Open Bible Church. They were blessed with two children, Jason and Melissa. He was a school bus driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, animals, and he loved his trucks. He was also an avid collector of all types of things. He is survived by his wife, Vickie of Lovilia, children, Jason (Chelsea) Smith of Lovilia, Melissa (Archie) Little of Lovilia, six grandchildren, Kevin Little, Rebecca Little, Hannah Smith, Ryan Little, Titus Smith, Corban Smith, sister, Ida Mae Hidlebaugh of Redfield, Ia, and brother, Michael "Spook" Smith of Lovilia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Josie Smith, and one brother, Oliver Smith. A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Lovilia Community Building from 4-8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family.
