Terry Murray

Terry Gene Murray, 62, of Ottumwa was called home to be with the Lord at 2:45 a.m., Jan. 1, 2021 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He was born October 17, 1958, in Ottumwa to James F. Murray and C. Jean Roberts Murray.
A resident of Ottumwa all his life, Terry worked at Tenco for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He had a true passion for music and art and inspired that passion for art in others. He was an avid collector of vinyl records and had a strong, committed relationship with God. Terry was a wonderful brother and uncle, and he always had a loving, optimistic outlook in life and never had an unkind word.
Survivors include his sister, Tammy (Chris) Gillis; 2 brothers, Craig (Michelle) Murray and David Murray; 2 nieces, Brittany and Taylor; and 3 nephews, Shane, Eric, and Tim.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Zachary.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Pastor Norman Ward officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
