Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Theresa Jane Patrick\n\r\n\t\t\t\tTheresa Jane (Terry) Patrick, age 70, of Ottumwa, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Ottumwa Regional Hospital after a short illness. Terry was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on June 14, 1947 to Donald I. and Mary Jane (Cherry) Patrick.She graduated from Ottumwa High School, class of 1965. She then received her bachelors in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa a taught for one year in South Dakota. She was an E5 Aviation Storekeeper in the United States Navy for 10 years with two of her duty stations being in Iceland and the Azores. Terry was an avid reader, enjoyed genealogy, and loved her cat, Bobby. She resided at the Good Samaritan Society senior living building in Ottumwa and volunteered a lot of her time on committees and special projects for the complex. She worked part-time for the Genealogy Society in Ottumwa and was also a Lay Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Terry is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Patrick of Ottumwa; siblings, Donald (Pamela) Patrick Jr. of Cameron, IL, Dr. Kathy Weseman of Fort Worth, TX, Larry (Dianne) Patrick of Ottumwa, Ed (Sandy) Patrick of Ottumwa, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald I Patrick Sr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ottumwa with Father Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will follow in Shaul Cemetery with military rites conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Ottumwa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 1-4 p.m., at Sinnott Funeral Home, 220 North Court, Ottumwa, Iowa. 52501. There will also be a Christian Wake Service held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a rosary service on Sunday at the funeral Home. Pallbearers are Donald Patrick Jr, Ed Patrick, Matthew Patrick, Andy Patrick, Josh Patrick, Jeff Patrick, and Kevin Weseman II. Memorials may be directed to the Genealogy Society, Wapello County Historical Society, or to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ottumwa.
